Frontman of Australian folk/rock band Weddings, Parties, Anything, Mick Thomas grew up in Geelong and spent his youth playing in bush bands until he made a move to Melbourne and spent a couple of years in the pub rock scene where he formed Weddings, Parties, Anything in 1984. A combination of Australian indie, garage rock and country/folk, Weddings Parties Anything released 11 albums and won 3 ARIA awards. The band toured extensively including an Australian run with iconic Irish band The Pogues in the early 90’s.
After reconvening with long time Weddings, Parties, Anything musical cohort Mark ‘Squeezebox’ Wally, 2011 proved to be a bumper year for Mick, completing a fantastic tour of Canada with old buddies The Lowest of the Low and a new album recorded in Portland, Oregon US, to be released in 2012.
